Holiday Gifts for Gamers

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Something that surprises people who visit our house pretty regularly is the eclectic mix of decor. While I love basic home decor, that’s not the only thing we’ve got. We’ve peppered in little pieces that celebrate one of our biggest hobbies – video games. From a little Portal turret on the TV stand to Dragon Age posters in the hall, we love games and our home reflects that. If you have a gamer in your life and you aren’t one yourself, it can be tough to know what to get. If you haven’t already, check out my gift ideas for new moms and new dads, too! Here’s my top recommendations for holiday gifts for gamers that will keep you off the naughty list:

Cheeky Shirts

You gotta love a good cheeky game shirt – and there are some real winners out there. I grabbed a great “right after this raid” shirt on Etsy for my husband a couple of years ago and there’s no shortage of options. Here’s a couple of good options on Etsy and a couple more from Blizzard. Even Hot Topic is in on the fun (oh, how things have changed since I was in high school) with this Zelda t-shirt as seen above.

On Theme Home Decor

We actually looked for items like this when decorating the nursery for our baby. With a Zelda themed room, we wanted items that added to the ambiance without branding the room. People are so creative and we get to benefit from that – it’s easy to add a little flair. I love this lamp (it’s perfect in Peanut’s room!) from VividDelights as well as this awesome Breath of the Wild foil print from BlindtheMerchant. Players of all ages can appreciate this Minecraft torch lamp. We might have to adorn our own fridge with this giant Nintendo vinyl decal set!

Subtle Fashion

If your gamer isn’t into clothing emblazoned with characters or logos, this might be a better way to go. I love the idea of clothes that subtly remind you of a character or place. ThinkGeek used to be the best for this – alas, they’ve been bought out and changed. However, Blizzard has some really nice options for WoW players. I like this Lich King sweater, Warcraft raglan sweater and this button-up shirt. There’s always the fallback option of Redbubble, too. I picked out this Breath of the Wild chiffon shirt and champion scarf (this korok one is cute too!). Plus they have a great Fallout scarf as well – gotta boost those stats!

Gaming Gear

holiday gifts for gamers - gaming chair

We can’t have a true list of holiday gifts for gamers without talking about gear. This is a broad category and depending on your budget, you can go from a chair to computer components or accessories. We’ve purchased two of these gaming chairs and both really like them. They look nice and are very comfortable – the two main priorities for us in a gaming chair. You can also consider accessories for the computer if you have a PC gamer on your hands. I’d recommend a gaming mouse, keyboard or headset – they are fun to update with flashy options.

Whew! There are a lot of options out there for holiday gifts for gamers so I hope that this narrows it down. If you are looking for other gift ideas, see all my gift guides here.
